A pole barn with one outlet is a shed. We install new services or sub-feeds that can take a welder, a compressor or both, hang lighting you can work under corner to corner, and wire the door openers.
LED lighting conversions
Same shop. Half the light bill.
LED high bays draw about half the power of the tubes they replace and put out more light. No ballasts to change, no tubes to swap, and the floor reads corner to corner. We reuse the circuits that are sound and hang the new fixtures on them.

Precision is not a word on a truck. In this trade it is written down, and an inspector judges the job by it. Here is what it means on a DC Electric job, and how you can check it yourself.
- Laid out with a laser, not a tape and a guessRecessed lights go on a laser line and get slid to it one by one, so a row reads as one straight row from the doorway. Boxes go in at one height, so every plate sits flat and level.
- Conduit level, plumb and trueStraight pipe is not for looks. The National Electrical Code requires work done in a neat and workmanlike manner, and the standard behind it, NECA 1, spells it out: raceways level, plumb and true to the building, every unused opening closed.
- A panel you can readThe Code requires a circuit directory. Ours names each breaker by what it actually feeds, not just “bedroom”, with spare spaces filled and the card on the door. Open the panel and check.
- Generators placed to the inchEighteen inches off the wall behind it, three feet at the front and ends, five feet from any window that opens, level within half an inch on its pad. Those are Generac’s numbers, and the size comes from a load calculation, not a sales sheet.

- How big a generator do I need?
- We do a sizing study first: we calculate what your house actually pulls, the well pump, the furnace, the sump pump, the fridge and freezer, the AC if you want it covered. - What does a standby generator run on?
- Natural gas if you have it, propane if you do not. It runs off your existing gas line or propane tank, so there's no separate tank to store or fill.
- Do I need a permit for a generator, a panel or an EV charger?
- Yes. Electrical work of this kind is permitted and inspected in Ohio. A licensed contractor pulls it; that is part of what you are paying for.
- Can my panel handle an EV charger?
- A Level 2 charger is usually a 40 to 60 amp circuit. We check your panel and service first. Sometimes it fits as it is, sometimes it means a sub-panel or a service upgrade, and we tell you which before any work starts.
- What does it take to get power to a pole barn?
- A sub-feed from the house or a separate service at the barn, sized for what you need: a welder, a compressor, lights, door openers. We size it for all your future needs.
