The panel check comes first

A Level 2 charger is usually a 40 to 60 amp circuit, one of the largest loads in the house. We check your panel and your service before quoting. Sometimes it fits as the house is. Sometimes it means a sub-panel or a service upgrade, and you hear that before any work starts, not after.

Tesla and every other brand

Tesla Wall Connector, the charger that came with the car, ChargePoint, Emporia, Grizzl-E: the electrical work is the same. A dedicated circuit from the panel, the right wire for the run, the right breaker, and the charger mounted where the cable reaches the port without crossing a walkway.

Garage, carport or outside

Inside a garage is the usual spot. Outdoor installs use a weatherproof unit or a NEMA 14-50 receptacle in a weatherproof box, and the run is in conduit where it is exposed.

Permitted and inspected

EV charger circuits are permitted and inspected in Ohio. DC Electric pulls the permit, and the install meets the Code requirements for a continuous load, which is what an overnight charge is.
